Lightspeed Christmas Celebration

CEO Visits New Zealand

The team is ready to take off Flying Fox

After a hard year of working on our projects the team Christmas celebration was literally conducted at Lightspeed last Friday with a trip to Waiheke Island.

The team relaxed with coffee and breakfast on the ferry trip over before taking to the skies on Waiheke Island’s EcoZip.

Our own Echo was voted the most vocal person in transit on the high wire and the friendly local hosts made the whole experience quite a hoot.

Following all that action, the pace was somewhat more genteel with a lunch break at Waiheke’s famous Mudbrick Vineyard. Nothing better than some great food amongst the vines with Auckland city and Hauraki Gulf in the background.
The action picked up again after lunch with some archery amongst vines. We are pleased to report that although no grapes were injured in this exercise, some may have got a fright or two.

Tim turned out to be a Robin Hood in disguise topping the points haul with a steady arm and accurate eye. Kexin was the most improved over the five rounds, whilst Steve discovered that he could not be relied on to provide dinner with the bow, if ever called upon. Luck would have it that other members of the development team discovered hidden talents with some impressive scoring.

The afternoon was capped off with some wine tasting after the archery (fortunately for the grapevines) and drinks at Cable Bay vineyard.

All said and done it was a memorable day for the team and a lot of fun. One of our more hard-core developers (who shall remain nameless) declared it was the most time he had spent outside in years…
